Goodbye My Love

Goodbye, my love, though words fall weak,
Against the storm of tears I cannot speak.
The world stands still as we let go,
Of all we dreamed, all we’d hoped to know.

Your hand in mine, for the last, soft time,
A fleeting touch, a final rhyme.
In your eyes, a thousand sunsets gleam,
Fading now like a distant dream.

We built our love on moments small,
A glance, a kiss, we had it all.
But time, it steals the light away,
Leaving us with just today.

I’ll carry you in every sigh,
In every star that lights the sky.
Though paths may part and hearts may ache,
Our love was real, it won’t forsake.

So here we stand, on the edge of night,
Letting go, but holding tight.
Goodbye, my love, though we must part,
You’ll forever live within my heart.
