Without Me

I stood beside you, watched you grow,
Through every choice, both high and low.
I held you close, my heart in hand,
In silence tried to understand.

But every turn, the hurt returned,
A gentle flame that slowly burned.
I gave you space to choose your way,
While losing more of me each day.

I wanted you to find your light,
But shadows kept me up at night.
I cheered you on, yet felt the sting,
Of loving you, and losing wings.

Now here I stand, with quiet grace,
Knowing I must leave this place.
I hope you thrive, I hope you see,
But now I must set myself free.

So this is goodbye, my final plea—
Live as you wish, but without me.
